We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team a Financial Aid Officer. Responsibilities include providing Title IV counseling to support prospective and active students by evaluating financial aid applications to determine eligibility for federal student funds and scholarships in compliance with federal and state rules and regulations. The Financial Aid Officer reports directly to the Director of Financial Aid.AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssist students and parents through the process of filling out the FAFSA both in person and virtually.Review and evaluate financial aid applications to determine funding eligibility ensuring compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations.Cross references information throughout the verification process to complete verification on student files.Identifies student files that are incomplete and follows up with students to complete file to meet deadlines.Assess unusual circumstances such as professional judgments to review and analyze incomplete or conflicting data and appropriately communicate information to students and families related to financial aid.Evaluates NSLDS for previous federal loan history.Effectively multitask between working with students, back-office work, and projects.Assist students with completing Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note.Sends out correspondence and communication to active students to renew FAFSA during crossover periods.Assists active students in completing the FAFSA renewal process.Provides financial aid support to students and leadership during new student orientation. Collaborates interdepartmentally within Student Affairs.Maintains confidential student information in accordance with FERPA regulations.REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution required. Two (2) years of experience in a similar role within a postsecondary institution in student finance. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.Experience using COD, NSLDS, CPS required.Experience using Banner, Anthology Campus Nexus preferred.Ability to exercise good judgment, work under pressure and deadlines, and carry out multiple tasks.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possesses patience, tact, and an ability to work effectively with a broad student population.Strong problem solving and analytical skills.Strong interpersonal skills, while possessing the ability to work independently.Must demonstrate a high level of discretion while handling confidential and sensitive information.ABOUT AGM UNIVERSITYAna G.
