Dixie Chopper (a member of Alamo Group Inc .) is currently accepting applications to fill the position of Customer Service Representative I.
The Customer Service Representative will assist both Dixie Chopper dealers and retail customers while promoting an excellent customer and technical service experience. The Customer Service Representative will answer phone calls, input parts and whole goods orders, research order questions, assist with general product diagnostic questions and perform other duties as directed by supervisor/manager.
The Customer Service Representative position is a temporary position for 90 days with potential to become full-time based on performance and evaluation
Essential Functions of the Job:
Assists in maintaining the efficient operation of the Customer Service Department by using company and product knowledge
Performs various functions including prompt and courteous customer service both by phone and in person, proficient in all aspects of computer order entry, expediting/tracking parts orders and/or whole goods orders, confirms that the S2 orders are completed daily, customer assistance in determining correct service parts required and monitoring freight for backorders
Assists in tracing lost or delayed shipments by providing precise and accurate information
Provides information to dealers regarding pricing, payment terms, discounts, etc., as requested by using knowledge of products, pricing structure, price books, parts manuals, and other reference materials
Promotes special programs to dealers and customers to maximize sales potential, including OSMI inventory and SRS sales
Assists retail customers by providing their closest dealer location and/or information on how to navigate website for order placement
Calculates and prepares credit memos and/or sales allowances for dealer accounts and retail customers for shipment shortages and/or incorrect shipments
Prepares return material authorizations timely and accurately and confirms process is completed
Research and communicates with other departments in responding to inquiries, as needed
Responsible for maintaining and communicating DC staff weekly schedules
Possible travel to warehouses, shows and dealerships, as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written
Strong Microsoft Excel Skills Required
Must have good computer and math skills
Ability to speak effectively
Must be able to prioritize work schedule, work under pressure in a face paced environment, and meet goals/objectives
Ability to problem solve
Ability to read and interpret reference books, price books, parts listings, and other informational resources
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED certificate required; Associate degree preferred
Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience in a Sales/Marketing/Customer Relations/Service environment
Knowledge of farm equipment and/or outdoor power equipment preferred
Working Conditions:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
Must be able to work overtime, as needed
May be required to travel up to 10% of the time
