Join our team as a Juice Bar / Deli Service Counter employee. Qualified applicants will enjoy interacting with the public and have open availability. This position requires applicants to work weekend hours. Previous food service and/or barista experience will be given strongest preference.

Juice Bar, Deli Service Counter, Grab and Go, and Bakery Case Operations
Provides great service to all customers by greeting them immediately and adding on to sales
Prepare sandwiches to order and serve customers from cold deli cases
Prepare fresh juices, smoothies, coffee drinks and tea, operating juicer and espresso machine
Clean and prep vegetables and fruits
Accurately and efficiently operate cash register and process customer payment
Operate scale and accurately weigh and label deli case items
Offer samples, suggestions and ways to prepare products and call for backup as needed
Ensure freshness of deli items by rotating and by keeping batches separate by date
Label or sign items with price and ingredients when required by established standards
Promote Membership benefits with non-members and assist in preparation of catering orders when necessary
Follow food preparation/food handling sanitation procedures in compliance with Health Department regulations
Maintain proper levels of inventory in Grab-and-Go case to ensure that is well stocked and faced
Pull old or low-quality items, record and properly dispose of them, following established procedures
Operate to maintain deli meat slicer per customer’s order
Prepare items for salad bar according to checklists
Ensure adequate condiments, utensils and containers at salad bar/hot bar
Continue training with new team members as necessary
Call for back-up as needed to minimize wait time for customers
Business Operations, Safety and Compliance
Alert Management of potential theft or other emergencies
Wash dishes according to established guidelines
Maintain work area in sanitary and orderly condition following guidelines set by Deli Management
Clean up spills immediately and take out trash after shift
Open and close the department according to checklist standards
Report customer suggestions, comments, complaints to Deli Management
Keep department equipment in working order and advise Deli Management of equipment problems
Attend Deli staff meetings and other assigned training requirements
Identifies self as employee by being in VNF attire and nametag
Perform any other duty as assigned by Management Team
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications:
Must be 18
Previous customer service and/or cash handling experience
Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment
English proficiency
Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills
Able to remain flexible to the changing needs of the business
Regular, predictable attendance
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with MS Office and POS systems
Previous juice bar/coffee/Deli bar experience
Familiarity with natural foods, grocery industry or cooperatives
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 30 pounds frequently; 30-50 pounds occasionally
Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
Mid-to-general range visual acuity to evaluate and interact in working environment and operate deli equipment for extended periods of time
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Regular exposure to refrigerated/frozen and hot/humid environments
Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally required
Ability to be exposed to, work with, and directly handle dietary allergies including, but not limited to: gluten, wheat and flours; dairy and soy; meats and shellfish; peanuts and tree nuts
Ability to work safely with sanitation supplies
