Summary:

The Field Service Representative is responsible for working service orders involving the disconnecting, reconnecting, setting, reading and investigating of meters on residential, commercial and industrial premises. These orders must be worked safely and in a prescribed timeframe, resulting in the proper delivery and measurement of electric energy.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

Directly or through others, the incumbent:

Determine type of meters to initiate service.

Use proper test equipment to determine proper voltage and to guard against faulty or hazardous conditions.

Assure service order completion within specified time frame over a diverse geographic area, while meeting Company safety rules/regulations and providing quality and courteous customer service.

Ensure the integrity of the Companys measurement devices and energy delivery through evaluation of a premise for diversion of energy, faulty inappropriate wiring and/or incorrect recording of readings and the proper documentation of diversion.

Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.

Education, Experience, & Skills

High School diploma or GED required.

Valid Texas Driver License.

Experience in meter reading or related electric measurement field.

Experience in working electric field service orders a plus.

Measures of Success

Demonstrates knowledge of metering applications to include proper voltages and dangers associated with those applications.

Ability to recognize sub-standard metering installations and take appropriate action.

Interaction with internal and external stake holders to resolve issues in accord with Company policies and standards.

Demonstrates ability to perform work with minimum supervision while maintaining a continuing mentoring relationship.

Follows Measurement Services safety procedures to ensure safety of employee and public.
