Job Description:

We approach problems with creativity and innovation. Schnabel is seeking a Civil Engineering background to support our growing business. The emphasis for this position is broadening the intern’s practical knowledge and experience by applying professional principles to real problems under the supervision of senior engineering personnel. This position is expected to be part-time with the Intern working for Schnabel on an as-needed basis.

Job Responsibilities:

Geotechnical investigations at undeveloped and partially developed sites and geotechnical analyses

Drafting proposals and reports

Performing construction observation and materials testing at construction sites

Some travel may be required

Required Skills/Experience:

Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor’s. Enrollment in other college engineering or relevant science programs may be considered.

Possess good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy

Ability to work with direction as part of a team

Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including office and field work

Desire and willingness to work outdoors at undeveloped sites and construction sites

Ability to routinely lift up to 60 pounds

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Junior, senior, and graduate students.

Prior professional work or summer intern work in a related field.

Other Requirements:

Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check

Ability to pass a pre-employment screening

The compensation range for an Intern is between $17.00 to $24.20. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
