Overview

The Senior Compliance Manager ensures compliance across the Bridge portfolio which may include existing projects, new construction initial lease ups, resyndications, acquisition/rehabs, and acquisition due diligence. This position will lead the timely completion of all audit preparation, audit responses, and yearly reporting. The Senior Compliance Manager will work closely with other Managers/Leads to provide training and support to compliance staff and property management on compliance related topics. This is hybrid role: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with reviewing and creating policy changes and updates

Assess, resolve, and track non-compliance for properties in the Bridge portfolio.

Oversee and submit final response for MOR, TCAC, and all other regulatory audits and inspections to the Director of Compliance for approval

Ensure all compliance documents required to achieve successful audits are up to date.

Review and approve all updated matrix for all properties ensuring accuracy based on the regulatory agreement, income limits, rent limits, Utility Allowances, etc.

Maintain accurate and updated income limits, rent limits, and utility allowances in property management software.

Assist with the implementation of setting up properties in Rent Café and the transition of waitlists into YARDI by ensuring all compliance related tasks are completed. Oversee and Inform post-stabilization transition process for repositioned properties moving to operations team.

Work with Director of Compliance to manage and evaluate occupancy compliance due diligence review for potential acquisitions

Participate in working groups, collaboration teams, and other external relationships with partners and other stakeholders as needed

Ensure comprehensive knowledge of affordable housing regulations through participation in trainings, and stay informed of legislation, regulations and issues that may impact property management operations

Act as a resource to property management staff on compliance matters; train staff as needed

Interface with government regulatory agencies; establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of city, state and federal agencies, industry peers, partners and other stakeholders

Attend industry and regulatory agency meetings as required and appropriate

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

5 years of experience in Compliance or Property Management

Extensive knowledge and experience of affordable housing regulations such as HUD, LIHTC, AHP, HCD etc.

Knowledge of local and federal housing laws

Ability to work with time sensitive material and meet multiple deadlines

Strong supervisory and management skills

Ability to flex between micro/file specific, and macro/systems and patterns

Strong computer skills and experience with property management software

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Valid CA driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Yardi software

COS, TCS, EIVS, BOS Certifications a plus

Ability to travel to properties

Working Conditions
