Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is looking for a strong technical leader to join our
world-class 200mm Manufacturing Engineering Manufacturing team in our
Essex Junction, VT location. 200mm Manufacturing Engineering Managers at
GlobalFoundries are responsible for leading teams to own the fabs
balanced scorecard metrics (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Value, Team) for a
Manufacturing toolset in support 200mm manufacturing. The ideal
candidate will have experience with managing teams in a manufacturing
environment and in developing strategies to meet factory targets while
possessing a project management skillset to implement these strategies
is essential.

Essential Responsibilities include:

– Work across organizations to enable improved processes and teamwork
including Technology Development, Characterization, Quality, ISC,
and Procurement
– Effectively lead an engineering team to complete complex deliverable
and make appropriate engineering-based decisions
– Lead a 24×7 semiconductor maintenance organization
– Review daily goals/priorities, project status, and qualification
timelines and ensure appropriate actions to resolve open issues
– Establish and execute specific module plans and strategies to
support the fab to achieve manufacturing KPIs. These include cycle
time, line yield, and OEE (overall equipment efficiency)
– Establish process capability and ensure technical results and
program needs in conjunction with fab operations, other engineering
groups and suppliers
– Define robust processes for the engineering teams to execute
technical evaluation of competing process solutions against defined
requirements and guidelines.
– Coordinate engineering activities to meet manufacturing objectives
and technology milestones
– Drive to meet fab operational uptime goals through effective process
recovery execution and process technician skills pipeline/training
plans
– Lead continuous improvement projects to optimize processes with
regards to process stability and wafer yield
– Identify ways to control costs while sustaining and improving
operational systems for Fab operation
– Participate in Continuous Improvement programs and follow Lean
Manufacturing practices in the department to improve productivity
and cost effectiveness
– Evaluate fab-wide business processes for improvement opportunities,
and lead teams to execute.
– Mentor technical and management resources across the organization

Required Qualifications:

– Education – BS Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical
Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or discipline or
equivalent experience

Experience – minimum of 8 years previous semiconductor engineering
management experience, demonstrated experience in leading teams in a
complex manufacturing environment

Individual must be well versed in all Microsoft Applications (Excel,
Word, PowerPoint)

Travel – up to 10%

Fluent in English Language – both written & verbal

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, energetic and
self-starter

Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the
organization and experience in working with external constituencies

Strong organizational skills along with demonstrated ability to manage a
Shift team of supervisors and technicians
