Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Battery Plant Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Manager.

The primary responsibility of this role is to Manage Plant Manufacturing Building Construction. (Design and implementation)

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Battery Plant Engineering, the person in this role will support the objective to lead design and construction for the new Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina Site.

This position can be located at Toyotas Production Engineering Manufacturing Center (PEMC) in Georgetown, KY or Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC) in Liberty, NC.

What you’ll be doing

Project Manager for new Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina – New Greenfield Site

Recommends/approves contractor selections/awards (technical viewpoint)

Approves or rejects all purchase requisitions up to $10K level

Meeting all project KPIs related to Safety, Cost, Schedule, and Quality

Plans/designs/constructs new building & existing building modifications to support North American production needs.

Manages approximately $75M to $100M in yearly capital expenditures related to building projects.

Providing customer group requirements while still meeting budget targets to ensure product profitability.

Meeting schedule requirements in order to support production needs to react to market conditions.

What you bring

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering

Engineering experience for Building/Facility Construction, including planning, design, sourcing and field implementation

Supervisory experience in an engineering or manufacturing role, with responsibility for direct reports

Successful completion of Toyota Business Practice (TBP) Panel or other equivalent documented problem-solving certification

Experience working with all levels of leadership, including reporting out to executive level

What you may bring

Master’s Degree in Engineering

Battery Manufacturing experience

Professional Engineering (PE) License

Experience with AutoCAD/AutoDESK, including the ability to read, interpret and modify drawings
