JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job purpose Responsible for finishing wood components
with spray gun, staining, clear coating, sanding, and all work related
to producing final finish for a variety of wood products. Must
demonstrate a keen eye for detail to find possible flaws and correct in
order to produce consistent, high quality finished products. Duties and
responsibilities Spray or wipe finishing stain onto and into wood grain;
then apply sealers & top coat. Mix finish ingredients to obtain desired
colors or shades. Mask areas that should not be exposed to finishing
processes or substances. Select appropriate finishing ingredients such
as stain, lacquer, or top coat, depending on process/product
specifications. Smooth, shape, and touch-up surfaces to prepare them for
finishing, using sandpaper, steel wool, or sanders as needed. Use &
perform routine maintenance on spray equipment and spray booths.
Maintains a clean and organized work area and maintains all equipment
according to maintenance plans and established procedures. Completing
required production paperwork. Interact in a positive, constructive
manner with staff members on all levels within the company. Ensures that
safe work practices are followed and adhered to. OTHER
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for an experienced wood
finisher with spray gun experience applying stains and protective
coatings to wood components in a fast-paced production environment.
Education: High school preferred Experience: Spray Gun experience and
wood working experience preferred. Hand tools used: Spray gun Sander
Planer Working conditions Production work areas may contain dust
particles, fumes from different stains, adhesives and wood products used
in the production processes. Exposed to hot or cold temperatures on the
production floor at times, dependent on weather conditions outside. May
work in the spray booth. Physical requirements Frequent lifting up to 30
pounds Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds Occasional lifting over 50
pounds with assistance Frequent bending, pushing, pulling Handling and
operation of hand tools Pulling/pushing hand carts, hand trucks Safety
glasses required and other PPE; depending on work area Must be able to
stand for long periods of time, working 10 hour shifts and overtime as
scheduled. Must be able to work in hot or cold temperatures
