Job Description: A large healthcare company is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Employee Benefits Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting our employee benefit administration functions. As a subject matter expert (SME) on our employee benefit plans, the Benefits Specialist will liaise with benefits vendors, process benefit-related documents, and assist employees with their health and welfare benefits throughout their employment lifecycle. This role will require an understanding of employee benefits and compliance with state and federal regulations. OPEN ENROLLMENT SEASONAL!!!
salary: $20 – $25 per hour

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Process benefit documents, including enrollments, terminations, and post-employment offerings.
Respond to employee inquiries related to group health plans, retirement plans, continuation of coverage, and IRS Section 125 regulations.
Provide guidance on benefit plan information for employees and dependents, including new hire enrollment, open enrollment, and continuation of coverage.
Apply company policies and legal updates to ensure compliance with HIPAA, FMLA, ACA, and other applicable regulations.
Calculate and produce invoices for employees on unpaid leave, ensuring compliance with FMLA requirements.
Manage updates of benefit-related premium adjustments in Payroll and respond to inquiries related to benefits and retirement deductions.
Participate in Annual Enrollment planning and contribute to corporate benefit strategies.
Liaise with benefit vendors, internal Shared Services teams, HRIS, and HR Business Partners (HRBP).
Maintain and track employee cases using a case management tool, ensuring timely resolution.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for position tasks.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in supporting employer-sponsored group health and welfare programs.
Knowledge of employee benefits administration and federal regulations (FMLA, HIPAA, ACA, ERISA, IRS, DOL).
