Astrion has an exciting opportunity for anEngineering Technician IIIfor theRedstone Test and Engineering Servicescontract, supporting theArmy Division.

JOB DETAILS

LOCATION: Redstone Arsenal, AL

JOB STATUS: Full-Time

TRAVEL: None

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

5 years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization:

or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 3 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty.

Mechanical – At least 4 years of the 5 years’ experience must include successful completion of 1 year of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts.

A minimum of 2 years of mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

2yr Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) in either of the following:

Aerospace Technology – Welding

Aerospace Technology – Structures & Assembly

Industrial Maintenance – Mechanical

Class “A” CDL with hazmat endorsement

Welding experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support mechanical operations in and around test stands and fixtures

Operate and maintain equipment for test support

LPART (Liquid-Propellant-Action-Response-Team) certified or ability to obtain once hired

Comprehend various test setups and lead the mechanical responsibilities while following applicable standard operating procedures

Operate forklifts from Class VII and below, mobile and overhead crane, and other similar equipment
