The Commercial Life Management Engineer will perform analysis required to establish safe operating life limits for the engine’s most critical rotating and static parts across the commercial product lines, including LEAP, GE9x, GE90, Passport20, GEnx, Aeroderivatives and others. You will work with state-of-the-art engineering technology, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through collaboration across GE Aviation Engineering disciplines.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the Life Management assessments for critical components of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering across commercial product lines.

Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers

Document and communicate results of technical data generated

Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives

Share engineering information and promote open dialogue and group problem solving

Broaden knowledge of Life Management and Mechanical Design technical disciplines to execute policy/strategy. Actively acquire higher level knowledge and skills.

Gain basic understanding of key business drivers and how Life Management deliverables contribute to the success of the Enterprise.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college

2 years of experience in Engineering preferred, but less experience could be considered

Desired Characteristics

Prior experience in Life Management, Mechanical Design, or Materials preferred

Strong technical, oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Ability to work independently
