Pilgrim’s, formerly Gold n’ Plump Poultry, has an opening for an on-site Inventory & Distribution Planner in our Sauk Rapids, MN Barn & Parts Department.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Inventory & Distribution Planner is responsible for purchasing and inventory control, verifying and unloading incoming freight. Responsible for accurate and timely data entry of inventory transactions (requisitions, receipts, charges, etc.) Perform accounting functions for St. Cloud Parts Departments and Barn Construction operations. Manage all the safety records and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create purchase and service requisitions while working with vendors on best price for parts, equipment, vaccine, medications, and new barn construction and remodel projects. Receive purchase orders in SAP
Submit vendor invoices to accounts payable in a timely manner in correct format, making sure pricing and quantity matches SAP purchase order. Reconcile vendor invoice discrepancies and work with accounting and vendors to resolve any issues including quality, service and delivery
Maintain all grower accounts and new barn accounts, including SAP set up; charge parts and labor to appropriate sub jobs, run reports to cross reference parts and invoices to specific jobs and cost centers, maintain all spreadsheets to track progress of jobs, accurately and timely charge out grower A/R and Barn Flock parts and supplies using appropriate GL accounts
Maintain all Excel spreadsheets with proper data and formats; weekly journal entries to charge labor hours from parts department staff work on projects and different cost centers
Responsible for maintaining accounting functions for barn construction and the barn and parts inventory systems; review final data/reports for new barn construction, making needed journal entries/corrections/adjustments and investigating variances. Close barn construction jobs ensuring payments are received and posted to correct accounts
Responsible for setup of new vendors with Vendor Management and new or extending existing items with Material Master, including SDS research and submission
Responsible for working with chemical management to create and set up new products for medication, vaccine, and disinfectants, setting them up in the stockroom and maintaining these items in the SDA book
Research purchase history and invoices on products purchased for Warranty Claims. Fill out proper paperwork to make the claim and track progress to ensure inventory remains accurate
Quarterly Cycle Counts on all MRO materials maintained as inventory within SAP to maintain accurate and timely inventory levels in accordance with company policy. Investigate discrepancies and issues as necessary
Responsible to work with vendors to manage old or outdated products and their proper disposal
Maintains all the safety records; including monthly and quarterly inspections to keep the parts department in compliance with the company policies including keeping the SDS books up to date
Participate in annual budget process for the Barn/Parts department
Unloads freight and puts the freight in the proper location. Also hands out the proper parts and supplies to contract growers and servicemen, making sure the proper paperwork is filled out
Other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, Associate’s degree is preferred
Three years of prior experience is required
Inventory and cycle count experience strongly preferred
Basic Accounting skills preferred
Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Must have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel
SAP experience strongly preferred
Must have good analytical and project management skills
Must be detail-oriented
Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs
