POSITION: Sr. Telecommunication Technician Possible Trainee

SALARY: $27.71 to $30.96, per hour

REPORTS TO: OSP Manager

LOCATION: , Nespelem, WA 

Basic Functions: This is a Non- Exempt position. Under general direction, is responsible for troubleshooting, installing, implementing, administering, and maintaining telecommunications systems and providing Tier II support. Responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of network services software and the analysis of network performance. Responsible for designing and implementing cabling plant infrastructure to support telecommunications systems. Assists in disaster recovery planning by executing network test plans. Implements telecommunications security procedures. Exercises no supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training: 

– Requires a  High School Diploma, GED with 24 months experience with,
– Requires experience in Telecommunication, Networks, Computer Science, or IT related fields, managing network projects and experience in working with teams, developing work plans.
– Requires applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position:
– Requires a Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Conviction.
– Requires an A Certification
– Requires a Network Certification
– Reqiores that the applicant must have and maintain Valid Driver License.

Requires novice knowledge of various switches and routers for use in Private and carrier-based optical WAN and MAN networks across multiple data centers utilizing MPLS and advanced routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.

Requires novice knowledge of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide core network services including: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, email security, VPN, and NAC.

Requires expert knowledge of VOIP telephony products.

Requires ability to iImplement and support telephony products including Nortel and ShoreTel Communication Manager and PBX equipment and Key Systems.

Requires abiltiy to Implement and support PSTN

Requires knowledge to Configure, implement, and troubleshoot a variety of telecommunications hardware and software

Requires knlowedge for programming to support telephony routers and gateways, auto attendants, ACD, DID, IVR, and other telecommunications services.
