Starting salary for this position is: $38.58 – $82.08 per hour based on workload category.

This is an adjunct (part-time) position. Compensation will be pro-rated according to the amount of workload assigned. CCS reserves the right to cancel this recruitment without notice. ## About the Biology Instructor – Adjunct

We seek applications for an adjunct (part-time) teaching position for a hybrid (blended) section of Biology 222 -Cell & Molecular Biology, in the fall quarter, September 18- December 11, 2024: M, 11:10-12:25 pm, in-person lecture, plus 75-minute, asynchronous online lecture. WF, 11:10 am – 1pm, in-person labs. Continued openings in Organismal Physiology and Ecology & Evolution are excepted for the winter quarter, January 2 – March 20, and the spring quarter, April 1 – June 18, 2025.

Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) is a beautiful campus located in the inland Pacific Northwest, on the ancestral home of the Spokane Tribe, near the Spokane River. ### Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare for and instruct college-level courses in Biology in face-to-face, hybrid or online formats based on need of the department.

Communicate expectations and establish clear grading criteria through appropriate instructional means, to include but not limited to developing course syllabi, handouts, and materials supporting the instructional process; evaluates student progress and provides clear, timely feedback.

Provide availability and accessibility to students through a combination of scheduled office hours, e-mail, and other effective means of responsive and timely communication.

Provide timely feedback and support to students.

Maintain accurate records for course grades.

May participate in department and general faculty meetings whenever germane.

Maintain professional standards in interactions with the college community.
