The salary range represents the earning potential for this position, through training, evaluations and years spent working in this position with CCS.

Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS) operates more than 30 Head Start/ECEAP/Early Head Start centers in Spokane County, providing care and support for more than 1,600 children and their families. ## About the Social Services/Family Engagement Specialist

Under the guidance of the Director of Program Services, the Social Services/Family Engagement Specialist (SS/FES) works as a member of an interdisciplinary team that provides content area expertise.

This position develops, implements, and directs comprehensive component strategies to include coordination and assessment of systems to monitor and address social services, parent education, and family engagement. This position is responsible for identifying resources, maintaining ERSEA (Enrollment, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, Attendance) standards, delivering staff training, and establishing community partnerships. In addition, this position will serve as the Head Start/Early Head Start Policy Council Advisor.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support development and direction of systems and procedures to ensure compliance with federal Head Start Program Performance Standards in the areas of social services and family engagement/education.

Act, in coordination with peer SS/FES, as HS/EHS Policy Councils Advisor, collaborating to provide the administrative coordination and facilitation of leadership growth opportunities for parents on the Policy Council Executive Committee and Policy Council at large. Coordinate and attend monthly meetings for Executive Committee and the Policy Council. Ensuring adherence to Head Start/Early Head Start governance protocols.

Monitor social services and parent engagement delivery. Provide direction, consultation, and training to direct service staff.

Collaborate on development of systems for documentation, tracking, and maintenance of family records in ChildPlus; provide leadership for program use of the family services and enrollment sections of ChildPlus.

Provide collaborative oversight of the development and implementation of program eligibility, selection, and enrollment criteria, procedures, recruitment plans and attendance. Chair the annual ERSEA policy committee including updating ERSEA policies and procedures, and related forms.
