Responsibilities:

– Implement a research-based, play-based curriculum that fosters pre-literacy skills, social-emotional development, and a love of learning.
– Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe and valued.
– Utilize dialogic reading techniques to engage children in meaningful conversations about books and stories.
– Incorporate phonological awareness games, letter and sound recognition activities, and writingexploration into daily routines.
– Facilitate dramatic play experiences that encourage creativity, social interaction, and languagedevelopment.
– Supervise and guide children during play center activities, outdoor play, and mealtimes.
– Collaborate with therapists to support children with diverse learning needs.
– Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and family workshops.
– Maintain accurate records of childrens progress and development.
– Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

– Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
– Connecticut teaching certification or CDA.
– Experience working with preschool-aged children.
– Deep understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
– Passion for play-based learning and fostering a love of literacy.
– Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and therapists.
