Summary:

Maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on headquarters building, branches and equipment. Performs a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, or masonry.

Qualifications and Education:

High School Degree required
Minimum one-year facilities or building maintenance experience required.
Knowledge of a skilled trade (carpentry, electric, plumbing, painting, masonry, etc.) and related tools/equipment, and a valid NY state drivers license required.

Job Duties:

Completes daily inspection of building including roof, stairwells, elevators, lavatories, and grounds, identifies problems.
Ensures stairwells, doorways and walkways are clear and accessible by removing debris/snow as needed. Able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
Performs basic inspects of mechanical rooms by reading and/or testing gauges, buttons, switches, and timers to ensure that HVAC/safety equipment are functioning properly.
Tests emergency generators, as assigned to ensure that they are functioning properly.
Monitors fuel gauges and low fuel levels.
Installs, repairs and replaces light fixtures, bulbs, switches, outlets, plumbing, doors, moldings, locks, flooring, wall coverings and office furniture.
Completes facility repairs/maintenance requests received from Branch Offices/Tenants as assigned.
Participates in office set ups and renovations by moving furniture, file cabinets, office equipment, installing rugs, painting, and performing other facilities relates activities.
Delivers supplies to departments, and maintains, services, the organizations van and keeps appropriate logs, and facilitates approved inspection/repairs as required.
Ensures that the Cafeteria is neat and clean, and that appliances/machines are working properly and well stocked. Troubleshoots problems and contacts vendors as directed.
Complies with established safety guidelines and procedures.
Keeps manager updated to complete assignments and, as directed, purchase supplies.
Performs other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor.

Salary:

The good faith range for this position is $20.47 – $23.58 an hour.
