Postdoctoral Associate

Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
PhD (or foreign equivalent) in molecular biology, bioinformatics, or a closely related field in hand by the start of the appointment. Laboratory experience in cell culture (yeast or mammalian), NGS library preparation, and bioinformatics skills for NGS data analysis. First-author publications.

Preferred Qualifications:
Research experience in DNA damage and repair. Python or R programming.

Brief Description of Duties:
We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join
Dr. Peng Maos research group to study DNA damage formation and repair at transcription factor binding sites (TFBS). The Mao lab uses NGS mapping and bioinformatics techniques to study DNA damage, repair, and mutations in yeast and human cells.

Duties:

Design, perform, and troubleshoot experiments.

Collect and analyze data for reporting in scientific journals.

Participate in manuscript writing.

Attend weekly lab meetings and present research progress.

Train other lab members.

Attend scientific conferences and give oral or poster presentations.

FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
