Inventory Control Assistant – Instructional Support Assistant – Heart Institute

Duties of an Inventory Control Assistant – Instructional Support Assistant may include the following, but are not limited to:
– Primary responsibility is to par all inventory cabinets in an accurate and timely manner. Must be organized and precise.
– Receive, unbox and scan inventory into Q Sight.
– Monthly checks for expired/near expired inventory. Notify Inventory Manager of these findings.
– Inventory knowledge for location, conversions and substitutions.
– Communicates inventory needs with Nursing and Rad Tech staff.
– Maintain clean and organized store rooms in Invasive Cardiology.
– All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Associates degree and at least 1 year of healthcare administrative experience or, in lieu of a degree, a High School diploma and at least 3 years of healthcare administrative experience. Medical/Hospital inventory experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
Preferred Qualifications: Lawson experience.

- All Hospital positions maybe subject to changes in pass days and shifts as necessary.
- This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair.
- This function/position maybe designated as “essential.” This means that when the Hospital is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at Stony Brook Medicine, Stony Brook University Hospital and related facilities.
- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicines Employee Health Services
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
- Successfully complete a 5 panel drug screen
- Successfully complete a Background Check investigation.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Anticipated Pay Range:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $44,949 – $55,141 / year.
The above salary range represents SBUHs good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidates validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:
- Location pay for UUP, CSEA & PEF full-time positions ($3400)
