Testing and Accommodation Services Coordinator

The Testing and Accommodation Services Coordinator provides administrative and logistical support for students in need of testing accommodations due to a confidential documented disability in collaboration with the Accessibility Resources Office. The position interacts with various personnel throughout the institution, including but not limited to faculty, to develop and administer individualized testing plans according to the documented student accommodations provided by the Accessibility Resources Office.

This is an exempt position with a pay range of $58,490 – $60,000.

Responsibilities

Testing Center Operational/Administrative Responsibilities:

Coordinate and confirm the documentation of student accommodations with the Accessibility Resources Office and develop testing plans accordingly.

Maintain confidential records of students with an accommodation, which includes but is not limited to, classroom and accommodation plans, exams and records of those exams/quizzes.

Work collaboratively with campus constituents to develop and maintain testing center policies and procedures in compliance with ADA regulations. Train campus constituents as needed.

Maintain a positive, supportive environment for students with a high standard of customer service, which includes but is not limited to, assisting students and faculty with questions and/or challenges with testing center accommodation plans and responding to incoming and phone inquiries in a timely manner.

Responsible for determining the type of assistive technology needed based on the accommodation plan. Develop, maintain, and remain current with ADA compliant assistive technology.

Maintain an understanding of ADA and FERPA guidelines and regulations as they pertain to testing services.

Hire, train and supervise testing center student employees.

Testing Administration Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing timely and efficient testing processes and a well-maintained test environment for students.

Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the exam setting by ensuring students enter the testing area without unauthorized technology or materials.

Administer tests/exams to students according to the documented accommodation plan including but not limited to, reading exams to students, providing assistive technology, etc.

Proctoring exams through cameras and software or in the exam site as needed.

Support students and faculty with coordinating and implementing exams, including but not limited to,

Scheduling of exams and reserving appropriate testing spaces.

Preparing all on-line exams for testing and following proper protocols for the secure submission of all online exams.

Communicating with faculty and student’s regarding special testing instructions or technology

Resolve technology and other challenges as needed.

Demonstrate to students how to use special assistive equipment/technology

Confidentially collecting exams with corresponding directions from instructors and delivering completed exams to instructors ensuring the integrity of the testing results.

Perform other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience in higher education is desirable, as is familiarity with ADA policies.

Experience working with underrepresented populations is desirable

Second language speaker is desirable

Demonstrated commitment and capacity for cross departmental collaboration
