Additional Job Description:West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks an Assistant Medical Director (AMD), Hospitalist Program. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Berkeley Medical Center in Berkeley County, West Virginia.The AMD will assist with oversite with the Berkeley Medical Center Hospitalist Program. The AMD will ensure that patients receive the highest quality treatment and will have oversight relating to activities associated with the delivery of clinical care and will make recommendations for staffing related to the appropriate delivery of such care.The Assistant Medical Director (AMD) will assist the Medical Director in the oversight of the Berkeley Medical Center Hospitalist Program. The AMD will ensure that patients receive the highest quality treatment and will have oversight relating to activities associated with the delivery of clinical care and will make recommendations to SMG and BMC for staffing related to the appropriate delivery of clinical care.It is anticipated the the physician shall devote 4 hours per month or 40 hours per year to the AMD responsibilities and the remaining hours to working hospitalist shifts.Assistant Medical Director responsibilities:Assists and cooperates with the site medical director and administrative staff regarding daily operations of practice at site of service. Participates in quality initiatives such as Patient Centered Medical Home, Accountable Care Organization initiatives, and other merit or quality-based incentive programs. Advises and consults with SMG on management of the Site of Services, including, without limitation, the following management functions for the Site of Service:
Adheres to CMS/Office of Facility Licensure and Certification Regulations
Budget Development.
Formulation of policies, procedures, rates, rules and regulations.
Selection of new personnel; and
Determination of services to be offeredCooperates with and assists SMG management in operating and promoting the Site of Service Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a state medical license.
Successful candidate must have completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program.
Demonstrated interest, knowledge and ability in the leadership, financial, managerial, and marketing aspects of hospital medicine.
Meets and maintains State Licensure and credentialing requirements.
Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
