We have an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Technician . In this function you will perform work involving the skills to keep machines operating, upkeep of mechanical equipment, and repair to machinery for departments including Thermoforming and Extrusion.

Starting Pay : Exact pay is based on experience plus a $0.75 night shift premium (when applicable).

Shift Times : 7:00a.m. – 7:15 p.m. (day shift) or 7:00p.m. – 7:15 a.m. (night shift). Rotating 12-hour shifts with every other weekend off!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Able to read blue prints and schematics, PLC programming, robotics, VFDs, HMI’s, Electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic maintenance

Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines

Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures

Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices

Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate

Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment

Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary

Order parts, supplies and equipment

Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, machinery, and equipment

Assists other workers with specific tasks as requested

Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s

Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience

Works within defined processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments

Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures

Supports the Plant’s Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma with a minimum of 7 years maintenance experience including machine repair and electrical diagnostic of extrusion (plastic) and thermoforming equipment.

Moves and lifts heavy objects and capable of repairing and operating production equipment.

Willingness to work and follow verbal/written instructions. Sits or stands for a prolonged period.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Must be able to make good decisions and troubleshoot in a high-pressure environment.

Moderate computer skills

Ability to work safely, willingness to train in cross-functional areas, and work overtime as needed.
