Financial Analyst (Contracts)

This position is for a (Financial Analyst (Contracts)located in Miami, MS.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Create an annual budget and monthly forecast for contracts with inputs from projects, underwriting, and other part of the business. Creation and ownership of contract P&L with a focus on health plan contracts (Medicare and Medicaid). Perform critical trend and variance analyses during the monthly close process and completion of P&L. Validation that monthly financials are accurate and working back with key team members on issues with Membership, Enrollment, and Claims. Provide initial indications to management regarding financial results for the month, including key drivers. Interaction with Business Areas to derive monthly closing commentary and variance drivers. Monthly presentation of financials/forecast to executive management. Perform account reconciliations for accounts in scope and participate in quarterly audit activities. Maintain and perform critical controls in closing and reconciliation activities. Perform historical and trend analysis on key business components (volume/gross profit, SG&A, cash flow, headcount, etc.). Calculate complex price models. Give financial impact analysis to business heads based on different business models. Monitor labor spend. Cost Center Controlling. Perform ad hoc analysis and work on bids as required.

Job Specifications or Qualifications:  Bachelors degree in accounting or business or related field or equivalent experience. Six years of related financial analysis experience. Demonstrated ability to conduct various types of analysis, including cost-benefit and alternative analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in spreadsheet applications and mainframe accounting systems. Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines. Strong business aptitude, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of financial and operational planning processes and best practices. Strong work ethic and flexible work style. Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties. Proven ability to navigate complex situations through organizational landscape and with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrates ability to be a decision-maker showing balanced consideration of business issues. Clean credit history as reported by credit report.
