Job Title: Tool and Die Maker

Job Duties: Job duties include reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings. Washing, preparing and maintaining dies, and designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts. The set up and conducting of machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting of issues and making process improvements, visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances. Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish, and fitting and assembling tool and die parts. Duties also include obtaining first piece approval, cutting and shaping blocks into specified dimensions and measuring and marking metal stock for machining. Transport dies between storage areas and productions sites and maintain well-kept die location records. Inspect finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities, and conduct test runs with the completed tools and dies. Complete tool and die paperwork and revise processing sheets and support and follow the Company Safety and Environmental Quality Programs.

Minium Requirements: A High School Diploma or GED. Must have at least 24 months of experience in the Tool and Die set-up and repairs. Demonstrated experience in operating a press and experience in die set-up and repairs. Must be able to climb, lift 40 pounds unassisted and have algebra math skills as demonstrated through course work or demonstrated experience.
