Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to provide

The University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a full-time
facility with rapidly growing emergency and critical care services. The
SAECC service is looking for an additional faculty member to join our
four small animal criticalists. The SAECC service has 3 full time ER
instructors, 25 full-time certified veterinary technicians, 5 ACVECC
residents in training (three of whom start July 2024), 1 SAECC intern,
and 11 rotating interns. The SAECC service has a NOVA stat CC express, a
Maquet Servo ventilator, 2 high flow nasal oxygen systems, in-house
blood bank, and access to advanced coagulation technology (VCM, TEG,

unit is available for echo-hemodynamic assessments, equipped with two
phased array probes, one microconvex probe, a linear probe, Doppler (CW,
PW, color) and tissue Doppler technologies.

Our SAECC service recently moved into a newly renovated facility in
which the ER and ICU have direct line of sight to optimize patient care
along with a new rounds room with advanced technology for clinical
teaching. This facility complements the establishment of an intermediate
care ward recently introduced in the newly remodeled small animal
surgical and anesthesia suites. In addition, on-site services within the
Veterinary Teaching Hospital include cardiology, ophthalmology,
dentistry, medical and radiation oncology, neurology, diagnostic imaging
(including CT, and 3T-MRI), internal medicine, surgery (soft-tissue,
oncologic and orthopedic), clinical pathology and diagnostic pathology.
A new multi-million dollar cancer treatment and research center is in
development.

Percent time dedicated to teaching, scholarly activities, and clinical
