Physical Therapist (PT)

The Staff Physical Therapist reviews patient charts, performs initial assessments, develops treatment plans, administers physical therapy treatments and modalities, monitors progress and documents treatments performed with patients (including discharge planning and patient education) in order to increase overall functioning, reduce discomfort, increase or maintain flexibility and range of motion/strength, and achieve other medical and therapeutic goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Communicates patients status to the referring physician and healthcare team.

2. May serve as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students, residents, and fellows.

3. Maintains professional license/registration through continuing education.

4. Performs physical therapy assessments, reassessments, and treatments.

5. Supervises physical therapist assistants in patient treatment.

6. Develops and modifies plans of care based on patient response and status.

7. Rotates through treatment areas as needed for organizational needs.

8. Participates in staff meetings and in-service education programs.

9. Maintains written documentation for all physical therapy services.

10. Schedules patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.

Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
