JOB SUMMARY:

The Janitor performs general plant custodial duties and grounds
maintenance. This position will pack cones to cover lunch breaks and
other relief of packers as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Perform general janitorial and clean up tasks as listed on the daily
clean up sheets for each shift
– Record completed tasks and document other issues as necessary
– Follow proper handling procedures for cleaning and other chemicals
as trained
– Operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, steamers, and
industrial vacuums
– Refill syrup dispensers and change pans
– Clean snow from entrances and sidewalks as necessary
– Follow proper procedures for cleaning of biohazard spills/accidents
– Identify areas that need attention and either address or report as
necessary
– Perform related duties as required by supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

– Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
– Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing effectively
– Able to legibly and accurately record information
– Good understanding of and strict adherence to Good Manufacturing
Policies (GMP)
– Must be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds, bend, stoop, climb,
reach and regularly use stairs
– Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds above shoulder
height.
– Job involves bending, turning, twisting, use of hands and rotation
of wrists
– Ability to stand on feet 12 hours per day
– Must be able to pack between 10 and 12 cases per hour.
– Must be able to distinguish and sort by color.
– Identify areas that need attention and either address or report as
necessary.
– Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, including
expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences.
