We are currently seeking a Valuation Manager (Business Valuation) to join Withum’s Forensic and Valuation Services Group. This Valuation Manager can be based out of our Whippany, NJ office location.The Valuation Manager will work on a variety of assignments, including taking substantial responsibility of overseeing and performing equity valuations or complex security valuations (stock options, warrants, convertible debt, other complex securities/derivatives, etc.) for financial reporting, tax compliance, transaction advisory, and other purposes. The engagements will be performed for mostly medium-sized businesses to large multinational corporations. The Valuation Manager should demonstrate the ability to provide excellent client service and assist the growth of team members in developing technical skills and professional competency.Withum’s brand is a reflection of our people, our culture and our strength. But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities. How You’ll Spend Your Time:Overseeing valuation analyses for tax, financial reporting, and advisory purposes (enterprise values, stock options, warrants, convertible debt, equity allocations across complex capital structures, and other complex securities/derivatives) primarily in ExcelImplementing and improving processes in performing valuations and writing and preparing of reports, letters, and other client deliverablesAssisting in review of third party appraisals for audit support purposesAssisting in the development, maintenance, application of models using Excel and VBA for Monte Carlo, lattices, or other complex methods as requestedReviewing and gaining a sufficient understanding of the necessary tax and financial reporting guidance governing the analysisThe Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or similar quantitative discipline4 years of performing valuations for financial reporting purposes (ASC 805, ASC 305, ASC 820, ASC 718) is requiredIn-depth understanding of valuation methods such as discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricingExperience in valuation of complex financial instruments is strongly preferredValuation related certification including ASA, CVA, ABV, CEIV, or CFAAdvanced knowledge of Excel and Capital IQ preferredAbility to program in VBA and/or other statistical package a plusCapacity to work independently on projectsStrong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skillsWithumSmithBrown, PC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against otherwise qualified applicants on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, age, sex, (including pregnancy), genetic information, marital status, domestic partnership status, familial status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship status, national origin, disability or handicap, veteran status, weight, height, or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
