Lets build together!About the job: Embark on a new career journey to shape the future as an Espey Accounting Manager, where you will be part of a team crafting transformers & power supplies destined for military and industrial products. The Accounting Manager works closely with the Assistant Treasurer and the CFO to ensure the accurate and timely recording of revenues, expenditures, assets and liabilities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), SEC rules, and reporting requirements. Accounting Manager Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:•Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department including leading department employees•Distribute AP invoices for processing by team members•Prepare packing slips for non-conforming product •Execute weekly check runs, process credit card transactions for payment, prepare sales and use tax estimates•Review vendor statements for accuracy and trending•Formulate balance sheet account reconciliations to support the financial close•Conduct flux analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts•Perform internal control testing on assigned business processes•Prepare weekly management reports as assigned•Assist with payroll, cash receipts, shipments and order processing during employee absences•Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements•Serve as the lead liaison to external auditors•Lead company’s physical inventories•Conduct accounting transactions for fixed assets •Participate in the identification and implementation of cost reduction initiativesRequired Qualifications:•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field•Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or similar financial capacity •Minimum 3 years’ experience leading people, teams and/or direct reports Preferred Qualifications: •Certified Public Accountant (CPA) •Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an accounting capacity in a manufacturing or production environment, particular one supporting the military•Strong knowledge of accounting, accounting cycles and internal controls •Familiarity with EPICOR and CRM software, as well as Microsoft Suite of Products. •Comfortable navigating complexity and troubleshooting unique problems; requires attention to detail, critical thinking, innovation, determination & resilience, and cross-functional partnerships•Competencies include independence balanced with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, bias for action, strong written and verbal communication skills, well-organized, self-motivated, analytical, team-oriented, excellent oral, written and presentation skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and people.
