Job Title: Community Impact Coordinator

Reports to: Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Work Location: Association Office, Syracuse, NY

FLSA: Non-exempt – Full-Time

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, events as necessary

Salary Range: $20.00/hour

Position Summary:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The communication efforts of the YMCA are imperative to every department, raising awareness about our programming to support funding and community engagement efforts.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: $20.00/hour, Full-time non-exempt

Essential Functions:

Support the development of and implementation of strategies to promote community engagement and fundraising.

Assist in developing content for use across platforms (social media, newsletters, website, digital screens) and promotional materials that aligns with the Y brand and community impact efforts.

Manage the YMCACNY social media calendar through inputting post plans and key events as well as supporting day-to-day posting and engagement.

Collect and analyze data across Y platforms (Daxko Engage, social media, etc) to amplify impact.

Support the production of promotional videos, photographs, Y stories, and content into the Y’s communication platforms.

Assist with coordination of MarComm project management, including monitoring department email and working within Asana.

Attend Y-USA webinars & trainings as needed.

Work cooperatively with all staff, including attendance in staff meetings to gain a better understanding of the Y’s marketing and communications strategy.

Support association events that amplify the cause and impact of the organization.

Support overall donor engagement and stewardship processes to increase connection to cause and impact.

All other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, and Qualifications

Have an Associate’s degree or equivalent in business or marketing.

Have at least 1-year relevant experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Deep understanding of digital and social media platforms.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Design/photography/video editing skills and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva a plus.

Strong relationship builder with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to perform quality work within given deadlines and expectations with or without direct supervision.

Able to serve effectively as a team contributor on all assignments, and able to work independently while understanding the necessity for communication and coordination.

Able to attend meetings and training as required.
