Summary:

Performs prescribed procedures of respiratory care and the sleep laboratory under the direction of a physician in accordance with established policies, practices and standards. Assume advisory functions related to the clinical and managerial activities of SleepCare.

Responsibilities:

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must meet the educational requirements set by the NYSED and ABSM or NBRC or BRPT to meet licensure and credential requirements. Related Associates degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Pre-Hire Experience: Three years of previous sleep clinical experience.

Post-Hire Experience: Orientation and training to the essential functions of the position is expected to be complete during the introduction period.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (TECHNICAL/PHYSICAL)

CREDENTIALS

Must be registered in Sleep Technology through the ABSM or NBRC or BRPT

Be Licensed by the NYSED as a Respiratory Therapist or an Authorized Polysomnographic Technologist

BLS/CPR certification required within three months of hire.

SPECIFIC SKILLS

Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills

Must possess the ability to assess/interpret patient data and draw appropriate conclusions

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Frequent exposure to infectious diseases/blood and body fluids. Works with a variety of medical gases. May require variable work schedules to maintain a 24/7 operation, including overnight shifts and weekend work time. May be responsible to carry/respond to a mobile device when on duty.
