Works independently and as part of a team, performing diagnostic medical sonography / vascular at a technical and professional level not requiring constant supervision. The sonographer must assume responsibility, exercising independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity in insuring quality images and pertinent information for diagnosis by the interpreting physician.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Allied Health Background.
2. Graduate of a CAHEA approved program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiac Sonography, or Vascular Sonography; pre-
registry in at least one major specialty (abdomen, OB / GYN, vascular) through the ARDMS within one year of employment.
3. BCLS certificate.
4. Must become Vascular Certified (RVT) within one year of hire through ARDMS or CCI
EXPERIENCE:

EXPERIENCE:
1. 2 years of experience performing sonography; registry in at least one specialty (ie. Abdomen, ob/gyn…) through the ARDMS within one year of employment.

1. Obtain consents per Department P/P manual.
2. Follows appropriate UHC on-call policy
3. Complies with safety policy and procedure. (Probe dis-infection, patient transfer devices, personal protection devices
4. Provides a safe environment. Reports unsafe equipment, devices, etc. to supervisor.
5. Performs all Sonography procedures per Policy and procedure manual.
6. Ability to disinfect all probes and use resert appropriately for Endovaginal and Endorectal probes according to P/ P manual.
7. Convey proper annotation and information to radiologists to insure accurate results.
8. Performs time-outs for all invasive procedures per Policy and procedure manual.
9. Demonstrate proficiency in regards to PACS and Ultrasound viewing station.
10. Keeps all patient information confidential and in accordance with HIPAA.
