Job Description
The Aerial Delivery Services Alternate Station Manager (ASM) assists the Station Manager (SM) and will play an integral supportive role on the ADS Project Team. The ASM will support the SM with the management and supervision of aerial delivery training, direction, guidance to assigned personnel. The ASM will also assist in directing the timely completion of all performance work statement tasks associated with rigging aerial drop platforms, parachutes and the maintenance of associated equipment within the shop. This position is the TRAX on-site lead for the completion of TRAX business-related activities such as: employee attendance, completion and submission of timesheets, medical support, and administrative processing. The ASM will report directly to the Station Manager, and as required, provide reports and briefs the TRAX Vice President of Operations upon request.
Duties and Responsibilities Performs replacement or repairs to canopies, risers, harnesses, and related hardware Performs inspections and repair and repack of personal and drogue chutes Assist the SM with maintaining technical order files, bench stock, and shop support stocks Monitors the maintenance activities of assigned personnel Responsible for accountability, maintenance and operation of COCO and GFE equipment Plans and coordinates shop workload Ensures that assigned personnel have access to and use adequate technical data during all phases of operations Responsible for Quality Control (QC) and customer satisfaction Ensures personnel are trained and practice good housekeeping, tool control, supply discipline, FOD awareness/prevention, proper disposal of materials, and safety at all times Monitors QC reports and ensures that corrective measures are implemented to improve maintenance quality and prevent the development of adverse trends Conducts inspections to ensure quality and completeness Reviews equipment records for accuracy and completeness Annotates maintenance actions in appropriate records Reviews training products for accuracy and schedules personnel for required training Assists assigned personnel in researching and requisitioning parts and components and in determining reparability and serviceability Reviews equipment records and technical order requirements to ensure required maintenance has been performed and all associated documentation has been completed Inspects completed work and evaluates employee performance Assists the SM with completion of employee performance reviews Coordinates section activities in the absence of the SM Leads all activities associated with 2nd shift operations Performs and trains all on-site employees on compliant and timely completion of JI inspections Frequently attends and participates in U.S. Air Force planning and operations meetings in support of aerial drop training operations Receives cross-utilization training (CUT) and is qualified to perform those maintenance tasks Performs other job-related duties as assigned to include TDY and travel
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications Is proficient in U.S Air Force documentation Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language Must be a certified Rigger and able to provide a recent certification from either the U.S. Air Force, Army or Navy Loadmaster Course, or Parachute Rigger/Parachute Packer Course Must have no less than ten years of experience as a Rigger, two of those years must be within the last five years Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills Must possess highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a top priority Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution Physical Demands and Working Conditions The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment and in outdoor weather conditions Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilities
