Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $25 – 38 / hour.

What youll be doing as a Tool And Die Technician:

Plans the setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speeds

Determines specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gaging tools, performing required inspection before, during, and after machining Wears all required safety equipment and ensures area and environment are safe

Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests die to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source, and correcting the same heat-treats and welds parts as required

Perform preventative maintenance as required

Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions or from the part to be copied or fitted Clean and organize the area, keep the area free of clutter and safety hazards

Tear down, repair, and reassembles tooling on the bench or in the press as required

Assist other tool room personnel with troubleshooting skills or ideas

Assist cell leaders with troubleshooting tooling during production runs

Available shifts:

Shift timings: 2nd Shift (Evening), 3rd Shift (Night) & Weekends

Job requirements:

Completion of formal apprenticeship program with journeyman card or equivalent to 4 years experience is preferred

Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize

Possess good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills such as 8D and 5 Whys

Communication skills as evidenced in colleague relations, team skills, and the ability to interface directly with the customer to resolve issues

Ability to work independently, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Comply with our values and policies

Requires a degree or equivalent experience with metal stamping 

Must have a valid forklift operators card (or be willing to be trained before starting the job assignment)

A high degree of precision and control in work where damage could be high and where muscular control and delicate touch are required

The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Background check and drug screening required
