Job Title: BuyerJob Description

– Thoroughly understand and accurately maintain process-related systems for suppliers and parts assigned to the buyer. Ensure sufficient inventory levels to support warehouse packing operations and plant production. – Establish and maintain communication networks with the supply base to promote positive relationships focused on delivery performance. – Identify, evaluate, and escalate critical issues to management to ensure appropriate allocation of resources in a timely manner. Develop specific countermeasures to mitigate the risk of critical issues. – Continually develop communication networks both external and internal to ensure operational success and department awareness. Collaborate with PC, Suppliers, SOM, PED, SCM, Ops, SPEC, and Control when implementing changes that will impact buyer-controlled suppliers. – Collaborate with departments and project leaders to support all specified Mass Production Site Delivery Powertrain department projects to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets. Mitigate risk of Downtime, GDP, and TRPU through quick reaction and countermeasure development. – Understand and manage New Model and Mass Production design change activities through close collaboration with impacted suppliers to ensure quality and effective date implementation, minimizing Production impact and cost. – Maintain reporting and Gemba activity for root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation to solve complex problems. Manage processes and implement countermeasures internally (plant/warehouse) and externally (supplier production facilities/warehouses). – Strive for continuous improvement through cycling Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) for areas of responsibility, including supplier ordering, design change control management, and Supplier Problem Management, to ensure associate success. – Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing experiences in technical expertise for succession planning and team growth. – Support company vision and Business Plan activity by leading or supporting theme activities and/or project initiatives within the associates core job function.
