Description:
The Maintenance Technician performs work involving maintenance skills to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or structure of the establishment in repair. Duties may involve welding, machine and equipment repairing, and electrical work. At all times observes and follow Safety guidelines and policies.
Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
Conduct routine Preventive Maintenance and inspection on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns
Diagnose and troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical and Pneumatic issues
Ability to read electrical, mechanical and pneumatics schematics
Perform repairs and replacement of faulty components to keep machine operating efficiently
Assist in the installation of new equipment
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
Must be able to follow and complete work requests, work orders, and machinery failures for machines and equipment
Must be able to utilize electrical measuring instruments to solve electrical issues
Possess the knowledge and understanding of Industrial electrical wiring
Possess the knowledge and understanding of process controls
Knowledgeable of A/C and D/C motors and controls
Record and maintain spare part usage
Knowledgeable in operating machine shop equipment:
Lathes, Welding
Surface Grinders
Band saw
Position Requirements:
Formal Education & Certification
High School Diploma or GED required. Technical or vocational training in maintenance related fields is preferred
Proven experience in a Maintenance role in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently, i.e. PMs and Work Orders
Possess problem solving skills and ability to work well under pressure
Knowledge & Experience
3 years of maintenance experience, prefer manufacturing
Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
Good verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization and external vendors
Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to effectively handle pressure and challenges
The capability to take proactive steps in managing problems
Physical Requirements
Work in hot/cold environment
Lift and carry 50 pounds
Bend, turn and lift while performing the job
Climb stairs, ladder
Work on scissor lift at heights of 20 feet
Stand for 8 hours, with appropriate break-times
Ability to work around hot items
Safety
Possess the knowledge of lock out, tag out (LOTO)
