Summary

The South Region Marine Supply Coordinator collaborates with multiple refining and commercial stakeholders to develop the optimal supply distribution plan. The person in this role is expected to learn refinery operations, economics, logistics and marketing dynamics across the value chain. The Supply Coordinator communicates marginal economic incentives within refining and logistics capabilities to facilitate decision making and alignment.

This role is part of the South Refining Value Chain Optimization (RVCO) team.

This position is part of a job family with multiple levels. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Refining, CPVC (Pricing, Trading, Supply, Marketing), RVCO, Logistics, and Marine teams to identify and evaluate the economics and feasibility of commercial opportunities using the USGC Blue Water Marine model

Oversees the commodity supply/demand balance for regional systems and identify new regional and inter-regional optimization opportunities to create value for the region

Creates optimal supply plan for 30-120 day period

Maintain and track the economic uplift of decisions

Owns long-term Blue Water Jones Act outlook, including economic justifications for fleet sizing

Identifies market arbitrage opportunities and develop plans to capture them

Directs TAR planning efforts to ensure seamless continuity of supply to MPC customers

Provides support for various other strategic inventory initiatives (LIFO, RVP transition, contango, hurricane and specialty grade safety stock planning)

Provides support for near and medium-term growth projects and initiatives

Advises and mentors planners and schedulers in economics and business drivers

Leads post-audit of marine plan

Acts as a backup to Clean Products – Florida scheduling

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering or related field preferred.• Three (3) years of experience required; i Refining or Commercial roles, with exposure to refinery operations and economics and planning preferred.
