This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Position is under the supervision of the Combat Service & Combat Services Support Readiness & Sustainment Directorate. Responsibilities Resolve field problems referred which require field studies, technical research, and investigation of materiel deficiencies and malfunctions. Provide maintenance and provisioning support to new acquisition and modernization efforts for new acquisition and modernization Army programs. Assist in the development of logistics documents that address all of the principal elements of support related to the total system life cycle. Utilize logistics databases (such as Logistics Modernization Program {LMP}, Powerlog-J, COMPASS) to determine maintenance trends and input provisioning data, updates, and data extraction for assigned weapon system. Review and provide input to Engineering Change Proposals, Modification Work Orders and Product Quality Deficiency Reports. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) providing logistical support and guidance on maintenance procedures or engineering change proposals; 2) providing technical assistance in the operation, testing, or maintenance of field equipment; 3) resolving field problems through technical research or investigations of materiel deficiencies or malfunctions; and 4) utilizing logistics databases to determine maintenance trends. This definition of Specialized Experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Position is designated non-critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2-R. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 90 days or longer to process. The selectee may be allowed to start work prior to adjudication if management approved. Obtaining and maintaining a secret security clearance is a condition of employment.
