The Structural Engineer WITH AutoCAD will be responsible for creating technical drawings that help to translate engineering and architectural designs into detailed plans used in building products and structures. This role collaborates with engineers, and project team generating digital drawings and schematics based on design specifications and preparing related technical documents.

Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities:

Using software, such as AutoCAD and Sketchup to prepare technical drawings.

Working with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings that meet their specifications.

Writing related technical documents such as materials lists and cost estimates.

Ensures all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards.

Maintains a library of standard drawing templates and form inventory.

Updates existing drawings as new information becomes available.

Prepare reports, designs, and drawings.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Heavy Civil or Structural Engineering; AND/OR

Minimum five (5) years of experience in related field; AND

Proficient in AutoCAD software and AutoCAD certification

Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Work Qualifications:

Extension working knowledge of CAD software to prepare technical drawings efficiently.

Ability to read, interpret and analyze design sketches and specifications to create technical drawings.

Sound understanding of physics and mathematics.

Three-dimensional conceptual skills.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Works within precise standards of accuracy.

Approaches work in a meticulous, thorough, and detailed manner.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with architects, engineers and other professionals

Time management skills to work with multiple projects and competing deadlines.

Knowledgeable in construction equipment and governmental requirements.

Ability to work on multiple projects, adjusts quickly to shifting priorities, meets deadlines.

Has good judgment and handles pressure situations with owners and other constituents.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to work long hours, weekend work, and out-of-town work.

Experience in drainage and irrigation structures.

Experience in concrete tanks and bridges.

Possesses a valid Driver’s License.
