Position Summary

The Opportunity Assessment Manager acts as a primary resource to help advance assessment opportunities and related needs for Huron’s healthcare assessment sales pursuits. This individual will be a critical part of the Opportunity Assessment (OA) leadership team and will work across Huron’s healthcare BUs and sales teams to gather necessary information, coordinate pursuit team calls, draft RFPs/proposals, and generate initial pricing tools to effectively respond to the needs of our clients. This position will receive training and continuous education from the Growth Enablement Team (GET) to drive standardization across Huron’s healthcare RFP/proposal development and client deliverables. This role may or may not have direct reports, depending on the current structure and needs of this function on the OA Team.

The OA Manager will oversee proposal development through the opportunity life cycle from the proposal phase to post-proposal submission activities, thereby leading, planning, scheduling, overseeing, and actively participating in RFP/proposal development for business opportunities. This role will also provide contributor support for GET-led opportunities. Key activities will include any/all items below, depending on complexity of opportunity and ramp-up timing of the OA Manager:

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Effective and efficient organization and planning skills with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities

Partner with opportunity owner and solution architect to define RFP/proposal approach, key messages, differentiators, key activities, deliverables, milestones, etc.

Translate vision for engagement delivery into written content (key activities, deliverables, project structure, etc.)

Use internal and industry-leading practices to increase the win probability of deals by producing RFP/proposals that are responsive to client needs and developed through careful capture planning, executed in the proposal strategy/plan

Demonstrate proposal team leadership through setting a positive tone, leading with care, providing supervision and direction to the proposal team, and asking for help when needed to ensure all key deadlines are met

Improve advancement/win rates by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate template as needed

Oversee quality control efforts related to content and final appearance of document(s)

Proven analytical and critical thinking skills required to synthesize complex data sets and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and trends to implement recommendations resulting in measurable performance improvement and successful organizational change

Impactful and professional written and verbal communication skills; ability to set clear project team direction, develop key deliverables, escalate risks, and influence key stakeholders inclusive of client and internal senior leadership

Ability to collaborate with team members and client counterparts to understand business challenges, adapt implementation methodologies and approaches to ensure results align with client’s business objectives

Team leadership experience including building talent, training, supervising, coaching/mentoring, and providing feedback through performance management

Employees are required to follow utilization set by practice and expectations and it is the employees responsibility to manage this.

Required to complete all assigned instructed courses and compliance trainings

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree required

Willingness and ability to travel 10-15%

Strong leadership and management skills aligning to Huron’s core values and competencies

Excellent communication skills – oral and written – and the interpersonal skills needed to quickly establish relationships of trust and collaboration

The ability to train and participate in the professional development of Huron staff in both project management and technical dimensions

Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Direct Supervisory Experience

Preferred experience in a matrixed organization

6-8 years of consulting and/or healthcare operations experience

Ability to be flexible in any cross capabilities industry segments

US Work Authorization required

The estimated base salary range for this job is $140,000 – $170,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $161,000 – $212,500. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
