Job Purpose:

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for both sourcing and high-end design? We are seeking a creative and experienced Vice President of Purchasing to shape and execute AFRs global sourcing strategy, driving innovation and competitive advantage across all U.S. locations. Reporting to the Chief Asset Management Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing purchasing and product development, ensuring exceptional results across all business segments, including Events, Tradeshows, Residential, Office, and Housewares.

This position is perfect for someone who thrives in demanding environments and has a proven background in purchasing, design, and development in sectors such as Events and Tradeshows. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies that align with AFRs goals, focusing on delivering competitive advantages in product design, development, and inventory management.
  • Supplier Development: Build and maintain a strong, agile supplier network to drive continuous improvements in product quality, cost control, and delivery efficiency.
  • Design Leadership: Collaborate with Product Design and Development teams to ensure AFR stays at the forefront of high-end product innovation and aesthetics.
  • Contract Negotiations: Lead negotiations and secure supplier agreements that reflect AFRs objectives and high standards for both design and performance.
  • Market Insight & Forecasting: Monitor industry trends, key cost drivers, and market factors to anticipate challenges and opportunities, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement best practices and set policies that enhance departmental efficiency while supporting cost-saving initiatives and design-forward thinking.
  • Collaborative Partnership: Partner with Sales, Operations, Process Improvement, and Asset Management teams to ensure seamless inventory flow, supporting business growth and product availability.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and success.
  • Project Oversight: Track and report on the status of various initiatives, ensuring timely execution and alignment with AFRs goals.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Extensive experience in purchasing, design, and product development, ideally within the Events and Tradeshows industry, with a strong focus on high-end brand design.
  • A degree in Marketing or Design preferred.
  • Proven ability to build strong supplier networks, lead negotiations, and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to forecast market trends and cost drivers while influencing creative and strategic purchasing decisions.
