Position Summary:

Penske Logistics is looking for warehouse associates to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment. Provides support and some supervision to regular and temporary warehouse associate functions. Works closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure employee productivity expectations are met. Provides a variety of responsibilities to meet the supervisors expectations.

Pay:

$21.76/hour

Schedule:

3rd Shift: 10:30pm 7:00am must be comfortable working overtime, when needed

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in planning layout of warehouse areas, considering size, weight, and related factors of items stored.

Advises employees on care and preservation of products received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping product; and related problems.

Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.

Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.

Assists in determining work schedules for special and periodic inventories.

Assists in determining work procedures and expedites workflow.

Issues written and oral instructions to shift employees under the direction of the warehouse manager.

Assigns duties and examines work for exactness and conformance to policies and procedures.

Studies and recommends standardization of procedures to improve efficiency in the warehouse.

Maintains harmony among workers and assists in resolving employee issues.

Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all company policies and safety regulations and recommends corrective actions whenever company policy specifies.

Regular attendance is necessary to perform this job in a satisfactory manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years related experience in warehouse operations; prefer course completion of seminars or college courses in supervision and related subjects

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine memos. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Possession of forklift operators license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of assuming position. Good interpersonal skills – ability to get along with people; good keyboard skills, will be expected to learn Penske software usage to become proficient within 90 days.

The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
