DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Corrections Utility Plant Operator uses safe operating procedures for boiler operations that generate medium pressure steam for heat and hot water. You will monitor systems, keep accurate records, and recommend efficiency improvements. As a supervisor, you will oversee assignments, monitor location of inmates using sign-out sheets, conduct contraband searches, and adhere to all inventory regulations and policies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
Work hours are to be determined based on operational needs. Possible shifts include 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
