Philadelphia Youth Network is currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Site Coordinator that will skillfully manage intricate details of our initiatives and oversee the day-to-day operations at the program site. The core mission of this role is to create a vibrant environment that seamlessly integrates leadership development, creativity skills, essential life skills, service learning, and cutting-edge technology education for the youth.

 

Pay Rate: $21.00hr

Hours: Up to 15hrs a week

 

The Site Coordinator will work in one of the following Middle Schools:

– Thomas K Finletter Middle School
– Baldi Middle School
– Aloysius Fitzpatrick Middle School
– Harding Middle School

Job Requirements:

– Must be able to travel 25% of the time
– Must have two years or more experience working with children
– Must be able to attend occasional weekend and/or evening trainings
– Must be able to complete and pass physical examination
– Must be able to attend and complete CPR 1st Aide training
– Must be able to successfully pass background checks (PA State Criminal, PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse, U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offender Registry, and F.B.I. fingerprinting)
– Multilingual a plus, specifically, English, French (Creole), Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, and Uzbek
– Experience with creative arts such as dance, fashion, painting, music, drawing and others a plus

What youll do:

– Oversee daily operations of the OST Program at the school location
– Ensure best practice standards are incorporated into Literacy and Career Preparation Curriculum for youth
– Provide leadership and assistance to program staff, community organizing activities and events
– Facilitate partnerships with appropriate public and private agencies that provide services to students and families
– Establish and maintain communication with school personnel and parents about students learning and social emotional learning needs
– Ensure compliance with PYN policies and 21st CCLC requirements
– Collaborate on program schedules and curriculum development
– Fulfill reporting requirements and attend essential trainings

 

Required Skills & Experience:

– Associate degree with four years of relevant experience, CDA preferred or High School Diploma with 8 years experience
– Three years of experience working with children and/or adolescents, particularly underserved populations
– Professional experience supervising a team of two or more
– Experience teaching groups of youth in a classroom and classroom management skills
– Proven ability to design and facilitate curriculum
– Ability to coordinate, manage and maintain confidential participant files in an order in accordance with program requirements
– Knowledge of Child Educational Development
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
– Knowledge and experience working with minority and underprivileged populations
– Computer proficiency and working knowledge of relevant technology tools
– Ability to communicate effectively and check emails, voicemails, text messages on a daily basis
– Ability to represent PYN effectively in a variety of settings and with diverse communities.
