SCHEDULE/ENVIRONMENT: In-office position with the opportunity to earn flex hours after training. After further work, the opportunity to work two days from home at the discretion of the supervisor.

DESCRIPTION: The Distribution Designer will perform detailed design work including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer while having knowledge in the following areas:

Civil, Distribution, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering

Instrumentation and Control

Protective Relaying

Transmission and Substation Design

GIS, Mapping, and Surveying

CAD

They shall also perform the following with minimal supervision:

Prepare manual or computer assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and minimum errors

Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, as well as Industry and Company standards covering assigned work

Take a role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions

Assist in preparation of engineering calculations

Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules

Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance

MUST HAVES:

Associates Degree or equivalent in a technical field preferred (2 years experience with no degree)

Knowledge of Computers and Microsoft Office applications

Experience with AutoCAD or similar programs

Analytical competence

Ability to interact with a variety of individuals
