Occupational Summary

: Under the general guidance of the Program Coordinator, the Welding Instructor is responsible for supervising and training students in Welding courses. This position requires flexible working hours; day, evening and possibly weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

: – Teach assigned courses to meet program needs
– Integrate classroom and hands-on experience enabling students to demonstrate competencies
– Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
– Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students needs
– Oversee day-to-day operation of the class
– Maintain class records; prepare and submit instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy
– Follow all safety and security procedures and notify the campus leadership of deficiency
– Provide feedback to program supervisor regarding student progress and/or comprehension of course content in classroom or in theory classes
– Ensures confidentiality of all student records and student information
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skill in subject specialty
– Motivate and encourage students to successfully complete their program
– Promote community awareness of program opportunities
– Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College

Minimum Qualifications

: Certified AWS and/or NCCER preferred.

Prior postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 1 (one) year in subject matter is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

: – Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
– Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors and staff
– Working knowledge of MS Office products
– Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom
