Document & Research Liaison 1

Job Summary:

Serve as the principal representative responsible for researching, documenting, and supporting legal cases that impact the business unit. Oversee security and legal responses involving complex cases and escalated situations to ensure effective and optimal resolution.

Hours:

8 am- 4:30 pm Monday- Friday

Responsibilities:

· Act as the primary liaison to the Office of General Counsel for legal matters related to consumer lending issues.

· Investigate and respond to CFPB and BBB complaints.

· Conduct research and analysis on claims and related actions to resolve issues efficiently.

· Identify compliance issues and update guidelines and procedures to minimize risk.

· Utilize existing systems to research potential legal issues.

· Request documentation and information from other business units to clarify details and resolve cases within mandated timeframes.

· Prepare legal summaries, analyses, and documents.

· Serve as the contact point for escalated legal situations and inform attorneys of applicable legal matters affecting the organization.

· Identify areas for improvement, implement enhancements to operations, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

· Prepare industry and regulatory reports, including audit inquiries.

· Collaborate with the training team to ensure accurate and consistent procedural guidelines.

· Handle high-profile member complaints and sensitive personnel issues.

Qualifications:

· Preferred experience as a Paralegal or in legal assistance, with experience in reading and analyzing legal documents.

· Strong research experience preferably with experience in government, compliance, or regulatory work.

· Knowledge of the financial services environment, banking operations, or experience in title reviews is preferred.

· Familiarity with Navy Federal’s functions, policies, and procedures is desired.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.

· Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to learn on the job.

Day-to-Day Tasks:

· Work from a research request queue to address questions from business units.

· Perform reviews of Powers of Attorney (POA) and property lean validations.

· Administer tasks such as pulling loan documents and handling subpoena requests.

· Progress from basic research tasks to more complex case handling as expertise grows.

· Manage daily caseloads with specific deadlines, including title and exclusionary reviews.
