The shift Supervisor will report to the production manager and is responsible for directly managing and leading the shift to meet the expectations of ITW and its customers. This leadership position will also be responsible for supporting employees to achieve department metrics for safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and sustainability. The shift supervisor will serve as the primary communication contact between the leadership team and production employees.

Primary Key Responsibilities

Effectively lead and manage the performance and development of a team of direct reports

Manage employee relations, complete annual performance evaluations, lead new hire onboarding training initiatives

Monitor and manage employee schedules and attendance

Lead and/or support corrective action processes

Responsible for leading safety initiatives, emergency response and other safety activities as required

Work closely with peers and other departments to improve safety, quality, and productivity

Collaborate with group leader to set shift expectations

Communicate with the production control, customer service, and management team regarding high priority tasks as well as communicate shift performance and current issues to be addressed

Responsible for ensuring employees’ have resources needed to perform jobs successfully

Other responsibilities as needed

Minimum of High School Education

3-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience required

BS Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or related degree preferred

Experience in manufacturing environment required

Lean Six Sigma experience preferred

The employee could be exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
