Peckham, Inc. – Talent Development Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Talent Development Specialist is responsible for helping drive Peckham’s learning and development culture for staff in partnership with Talent Development Leadership. Activities for this position are company-wide and address the talent development needs of organizational operations. The successful candidate will be passionate about creating a People Development learning environment and have experience related to training, instructional design, career development, and coaching. This position will use a variety of multi- modal learning approaches to design, deliver, and facilitate content needed to grow a leading-edge workforce, and create accessible and equitable learning experiences. This role will also partner with Talent Leadership, and other stakeholders to help implement and utilize professional development plans.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the execution of strategic learning initiatives at Peckham
Develop relationships across the organization to better understand and assess the variety of education and development needs of staff
Conduct educational and development needs analysis in partnership with leadership
Create trainings and curriculum that is essential to meet a variety of staff level development needs
Deliver trainings to various audience types, including on-boarding, orientation, compliance, leadership & supervision , competency training, procedural trainings, train-the-trainer activities, and coaching.
Deliver trainings via a variety of modalities that may include instructor-led experiences, webinars, eLearning modules, and follow-up with self-guided training experiences.
Support the development and implementation of professional development plans for staff.
Assist in the facilitation of DiSC and Strengths Finder based workshops
Provide career development coaching to staff. Administer assessments, deliver feedback, and serve as ongoing coach.
Build and execute strategies focused on enhancing the leadership skills of people managers
Facilitate access to external trainings from other reputable learning sources for skill attainment and competencies across the organization
Support the design and execution of signature programs, key company-wide events, and initiatives that promote and reinforce Peckham’s culture and values and create a professional, connected and engaged workplace
Support Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging efforts via staff education and learning
Provide administrative support tasks to effectively execute trainings including scheduling rooms, utilizing learning management system, delivering post surveys, etc.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain strong understanding of diverse learner, and create accessible learning opportunities for all staff
Demonstrate strong communication and project management abilities with various stakeholders.
Demonstrate high degree of professionalism and emotional intelligence when working between the departments and business lines.
Collaborate with other Talent Development and Training Staff, and Human Resources across the organization to ensure consistency between delivery methods, materials used, and to avoid duplication of effort.
This position requires some travel to different Peckham locations to deliver training, classes, assessments, coaching sessions, and practices sessions. Locations include but are not limited to: Michigan (Greater-Lansing area, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek), and Arizonia

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have direct Supervisory Responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and/or 2-3 years of related experience in the areas of Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training, Adult Learning, Educational Technology, or other related field
Pass and maintain a successful background check
This position will require traveling to other Peckham locations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in a related field OR at least five years of experience designing, developing, and delivering training and assessments, or at least five years meaningful and progressively responsible project management experience
Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems and curriculum design platforms
Professional certifications related to human resources, Human Centered Design, organizational design, training and development, and coaching
TRAVEL
This position may support across various sites throughou t Michigan occasionally.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, particularly during the design and development of training materials, meeting with supervisors, conducting research, and other computer-based work. T here may also be prolonged periods of standing during training sessions, presentations, and workshops.
